This policy explains how My New Zealand collects, uses and shares personal information through mynewzealand.co.nz. It covers our digital-download shop, merchandise links, customer accounts and business directory, including the Ōmokoroa Local Business Directory.
Who collects and holds your information
My New Zealand operates this website and holds information supplied through it. You can contact us at mynewzealandart@gmail.com or write to My New Zealand, 14 Hamurana Road, Ōmokoroa, Bay of Plenty 3114, New Zealand.
Information we collect
- Purchases: your name, email address, billing details, order history and information needed to provide downloads, licences and purchase support. Payment providers handle payment processing; we receive information needed to record and manage the transaction.
- Accounts: registration details, profile information and information needed for sign-in, account security and password recovery. The same website account can be used for shop purchases and business listings.
- Directory listings: business names, descriptions, categories, service areas, contact details, website and social links, and images submitted for publication.
- Messages: information you provide when contacting us, reporting a problem or requesting a correction.
- Website use: technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, cookies and activity records used to operate, secure and understand use of the website.
We collect information from you when you buy, register, submit a listing or contact us. We may also collect business information from publicly available sources, such as a business website, or from someone authorised to submit it. Business details can be personal information where they identify an individual, including a sole trader. Where notification of indirect collection is required, we will take reasonable steps to provide that notification.
Why we use information
We use information to process purchases, provide downloads and licences, maintain accounts and listings, respond to enquiries, send relevant order or account notifications, improve the website, prevent misuse and meet legal or record-keeping obligations. We only ask for information relevant to these purposes. Providing account, order or listing information is voluntary, but we may be unable to provide the requested service without required details.
If we send promotional emails, you can unsubscribe or contact us to stop them. Essential order, security and account messages may still be sent.
Public directory information
Published listing details are visible to visitors and may appear in search engines or be shared by other people. Only submit contact details and images you are authorised to make public. Do not include a private home address or personal contact details unless you intend them to be published.
Account sign-in details are not part of a public business listing. If a listing contains inaccurate information or details you do not want published, contact us to request correction or removal. Search engines and other websites may retain cached copies after we change or remove a listing.
Service providers and sharing
Information may be handled by providers that support website hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, backups and security. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand. We use these services for the purposes described in this policy and consider the privacy safeguards that apply.
We may disclose information where required or permitted by law, or where necessary to address fraud, misuse or a security incident. Directory details intended for publication are shared publicly; private account and order information is not published as a listing.
When you follow a business link or buy merchandise on Redbubble or another external website, that organisation handles the information you give it under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and website tools
Cookies and similar tools support functions such as sign-in, shopping carts, security and website analytics. You can manage cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect sign-in, checkout or other website functions.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep your password private and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, including purchase support, account and listing administration and legal record-keeping. Removing a public listing does not automatically remove an account or all order records. Records needed for legal purposes and copies in backups may remain after a removal request.
Access, corrections and complaints
You can ask for access to personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to close your account or remove a listing. We may need to verify your identity or your authority to act for a business. We will explain if we need to retain information or cannot fulfil a request.
Contact mynewzealandart@gmail.com with privacy questions or concerns. If we cannot resolve your concern, you can contact New Zealand’s Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website and its services change. The date at the top shows when this version was last updated.
